The Diamond District mission is to create places for all Richmonders, old and new, to find their home base within the new neighborhood. The places at the Diamond District will bring people together – strengthening connections and a sense of belonging. The Diamond District will be active by nature and connected by design.
Active by Nature
A series of new public green spaces will include active and passive recreation, creating a new outdoor amenity for neighbors from all over the city to enjoy. Amenities at the Diamond District will be vibrant, energetic, and resilient and embrace the joy of activity. The green network will connect to the 43-mile Fall Line Trail, a multi-use trail that will provide seamless routes to Ashland, Downtown Richmond and Petersburg.
Connected by Design
As a gateway to Richmond, the Diamond District is a connector of our city. It will bring people, nature, businesses and communities together. New streets will connect to the existing street grid and increase connectivity to and through the Diamond District. Located at the crossroads of I-64, I-95, and I-195, the Diamond District is easily accessible to all parts of the Richmond region.
